Akshi Beach.

Akshi is a former city of Portuguese India, now in rural area. It is located 100 km south of Mumbai, in Raigad District of Maharashtrastate in western India.

Me and my brother  planned a bike (scooter) ride to Aksi. It is around 8km from Alibag. we started @ 4 in evening  and reached in 15 min. it was fun riding on a bike.  when we reach there it was a lonely beach as it was a week day , trust me if you visit Akshi on weekend you will not find a place to park your car.

The weather was plesent and sunny. Me and my brother started walking on sand and also done a photoshoot he has his own DSLR camera as his photography skills are awesome we click many pic,s. After roming around playing on sea waves . we had some pani-puri  and fresh coconut water.

The beach is very beautiful. At beach you can enjoy ATV rides, hourse riding , water parasailing and also speed boat’s are avalible at Akshi.

It is good place to visit for a shot picnic . After having lot of fun we started ride back to Alibag.

Kashid beach

 A visit to kashid beach…

Kashid is a beach town on the shores of the 

Arabian Sea, in the North Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is located 30 km from Alibag and 160 km from Mumbai on the Alibag-Murud road.

Kashid is popular mainly because of its white sand, blue seas, green mountains, paddy fields. Kashid has a 3 km stretch of beach tucked in between two rocky  with Casuarina groves all along the seashore. This is by far the best beach in this part of the Konkan region and, though absolutely deserted on weekdays, the town can attract its fair share of week-end holiday makers. There are a few small hotels in Kashid as the rest of the area is privately owned. Best option to stay here to stay in cottages owned by local people.It costs 1000 Rs for a room on weekends. They offer konkani fish thali which is very sumptuous.

The waves here are unusually high and can be a paradise for surfing. We reached kashid beach @ 10 morning after swimming and playing at beach we had a lunch at hotels attach to beach.  Which hade a menu of veg & non-veg.

After enjoying the beach . After clicking pic’s and selfie’s  the journey back to alibag started.

Kashid was not known as a tourist attraction till the mid 90s. It was only after travelers to Murud Janjira started stopping to spend some time after noticing the beauty of the beach .

How to go:-

The road access is very good.

·         160 km from Mumbai. 

·         135 km from Thane.

·         110 km from Navi Mumbai (Vashi)

·         Around 170-180 km from Pune (via Khopoli - Mumbai Pune Expressway)

    Buses:

·         Buses plying regularly between Mumbai central - Murud halt at Kashid

·         Buses plying regularly between Thane - Murud halt at Kashid

·         Frequent service are available form  Alibag.

One more thing instead of staying in a hotel it is better to look for accommodation at cottages built by local people. They serve awesome Konkan sea food.

I’am back but this time there is no travel story only some info of where to go for a small trip @ beach

A KIHIM BEACH…

Kihim evolved as a village in the 17th century during the era of Sarkhel Kanhoji Aangre, the naval chief of King Shivaji's Kingdom. It formed part of the then known as "Ashtagare".

Kihim has a tropical climate with heavy rainfall during Monsoon. Winters are moderate and Summers are hot and humid.

Kihim mostly thrives on Tourism throughout the year with November to May being peak months. Farming is another major occupation found here. Rice is the main produce of the area like majority of the Konkan region. Coconut and Betel nut is also produced on a large scale.

Major attraction in Kihim is its sandy beach. Though Kihim was once known as a "Bird Watchers' Paradise", very few exotic species can be still found in the areas having dense cover of trees. Variety of butterflies are also found here.

On a clear day Colaba area of Mumbai is visible from Kihim Beach on the north western side.

Tourist facilities here mainly consist of "Bed and Breakfast Schemes" run by the locals under the regulations of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, which acts as a governing body for Tourism throughout the State of Maharashtra. One can easily find average quality lodging and boarding facilities throughout the village, except for the month of December when advance bookings may be required. For restaurants, one has to go to a nearby locality known as Chondhi.

Other nearby attractions include the Kihim Pond, Kankeshwar Temple near Mapgaon and Karmarkar Museum in Sasawane and many other beache's.

How to go:-

Road: Kihim is well connected to Alibag by road. MSRTC buses run to and from Alibag few times a day. It can also be accessed from Mumbai via NH-17 and then a state route connecting from Wadkhal. The distance is approximately 94 km from Mumbai. From Pune, Kihim is accessible forking out from Khopoli onto the state route leading towards Alibag after taking NH-4. Distance is approximately 144 km. Passenger ferry terminals like Mandwa (11 km) and Rewas (15 km) are also connected to Kihim via road. Auto Rickshaws are readily available everywhere for local travel. One can also travel to Chondhi (1.5 km) as more frequent buses and autos are available from here for Alibag, Mandwa and Rewas.

  Railways: The nearest railway station is at Pen, which is approximately 30 km away.

  Ferry: Passenger boat services are available from Mandwa Jetty to Gateway of India and from Rewas to Bhaucha Dhakka in Mumbai throughout the year, except for Monsoon.
